Overview:
GIA Media began as a film production group in Ilorin, Kwara State, under the leadership of Micheal Able. What started as a small creative movement grew through stage productions across university campuses including Obafemi Awolowo University, Kwara State Polytechnic, and the University of Ilorin.
In its early years, the group produced original films such as Passion for the Nation, The Mad Man, and My Best Friend, laying the foundation for a storytelling approach rooted in culture, purpose, and audience connection.
On September 30, 2020, GIA Media officially incorporated as a media production company, marking a shift into professional and large-scale production. The company began delivering high-quality visual and live production services for corporate and institutional clients including Meyer Plc Nigeria, Ikeja Hotel Plc, and SCGN.
Between 2021 and 2023, GIA Media experienced significant growth, expanding its operations across live media production, event coverage, video production, and digital content creation. During this period, the company worked with organisations such as SCGN, IGI, GNI, Sheraton Hotel, FITC, and other notable clients, while building a reputation for delivering reliable and immersive production experiences.
A defining moment came in 2023 with the production coverage of the Next Level Prayer Conference hosted by Pastor Bolaji Idowu of Harvesters International Christian Center, reaching audiences across seven countries and engaging over 25,000 online viewers.
GIA Media further expanded its storytelling footprint through its collaboration on Motherland Connect, a documentary produced in partnership with Coming to Africa, exploring cultural identity and diaspora connection.
In January 2024, the company was privilege to co-produced Winepress 2024, one of West Africa’s largest gospel gatherings. The event brought together over 60,000 people on-site and more than 100,000 online viewers, streamed across multiple countries including the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia.
Today, GIA Media operates at the intersection of live production, digital storytelling, and cultural documentation, continuing to create work that connects people, captures moments, and amplifies meaningful stories across borders.
